A massive explosion rocked the Premier Explosives Limited factory in Peddakandukuru village, located in the Yadagirigutta mandal. The tragic incident claimed the life of one worker, identified as Kanakaiah, and left seven others seriously injured. Authorities are investigating the cause of the explosion, which has raised concerns over industrial safety protocols.

The Incident

The explosion occurred in a reactor where workers were mixing magnesium with other chemicals. The blast was powerful but remained confined to the room where the mixing was being conducted. Upon hearing the deafening noise, workers fled the premises in panic, and the company’s management activated the emergency siren.

The injured workers were rushed to the hospital, but tragically, one succumbed to injuries en route, while another remains in critical condition.

Villagers Protest

Following the incident, villagers gathered in front of the factory to protest, alleging that negligence by Premier Explosives was the cause of the accident. The demonstrators demanded accountability from the company for its failure to ensure worker safety.

Police Investigation

According to Bhuvanagiri DCP Rajesh Chandra, preliminary investigations suggest negligence in handling hazardous materials as a likely cause of the explosion. The police have assured that a case will be registered against the factory management based on complaints from the victims.

DCP Rajesh Chandra also stated that the investigation would assess whether the company adhered to industrial safety regulations. He emphasized the importance of determining if proper safety protocols were in place to prevent such accidents.

Company's Silence

As of now, the management of Premier Explosives has not issued any statement regarding the incident. The lack of communication has added to the outrage among the local community and affected families.

The tragic explosion has once again highlighted the critical need for stringent safety measures in industries handling hazardous materials. Authorities continue their investigation, and further updates are expected as the case unfolds.
